TEST DRIVE: SL 55 AMG & SL 65 AMG

SL... the sexiest Merc ever built. The model R230 AMG version was launched back in year 2003 for the SL55 while 2006 for the model SL65. The SL65 is the craziest and the most powerful car I've ever drove currently. SL55 is common but to meet the SL65, it's like once in a blue moon... Extremely rare..!

The signature emblem for the SL55 was mounted on the supercharger...while SL65 was on the engine cover only...


SL55 AMG V-8 supercharged 5.4L 469bhp @ 6,100 rpm powerplant to push the car from 0-62mph in 4.7sec and torque of 700 Nm @ 2,650 rpm. Top speed was electronically limited to 250km/h... same applied to the SL65. Transmission attached is the legandary 722.6, a 5-speed auto gearbox...


A massive 6.0L V-12 twin-turbocharged engine under the SL65 AMG hood produces 604bhp @ 4,800 rpm and 1,000 Nm @ 2,000 rpm...! Max power at low rev..! 0-62mph just in 4.2 sec..! My heart nearly pop out...
