Mt. Kinabalu Expedition: Day02
Most of us slept less than 5 hours and we've to wake up before 2.00am as the gate to the summit opens at 2.00am... We've to make it early to the summit in order to catch the sunrise...
After brushed teeth and washed our face, we went down to the lobby... Everyone was in poncho and raincoat as it was raining outside.
I went out and check out the tempt... It was at 8.0 degree... Ouch..! Anyhow, we've to proceed to the summit... We're kinda late and alot of people were in ahead of us... No night shot as it was pitch black...! We just follow the thick rope to guide us to the peak...
Surprisingly, Mr.Lui was the 1st person to reach to the Low's Peak on that day before 5.00am... Amazing..! Photo taken by him while the peak is still empty...
Tay and I reached to the summit by 5:25am and met the rest of them at there... It was exteremely freezing..!!! Just like in the freezer... Look at Mr.Lui, he has been sitting in the freezer for the pass half an hour...
Wait... I'm lost... Which peak is which peak...??? Photo taken from a shirt bought from Philipino Market...
Yay..! Low's Peak..!!! 4095.2m above sea level..!!! Look at my running nose... Wet wet... xD Once I removed my gloves, my hands straight numb...! Freaking cold... Never feel anything like this before... It ain't low..!
Before 6.00am, the sun rays were starting to appear... Damn hard to make a shot... My fingers were shivering and numb... View of Ugly Sister Peak...
The St. John's Peak... Just like Bape... LOL...
The sunrise wasn't that stunning as it was cloudy that day...
What's more interesting is the shadow of the mountain... A f**king huge pyramid shadow...!
The Low's Peak is just a small area... Obviously everyone is going to leave their footstep at there as it was the highest point... and the peak was so congested. I decided to down to enjoy the scenery...
Made a panaroma shot from Low's Peak... Worth carrying up my 1.5kg tripod... But I felt like carrying 15kg of stone..!!!
Gang photos... with South Peak...
With Bape... He's abit shy shy...
Yeah..! That's Low's Peak...
Going back... Din't expect it was such a huge flat area...! As huge as Klang up there... xD
Some were just about the reach to the top... Really respect those elderly people who made it to the top... Not easy...!
As we're walking, We spotted a huge donkey neh.. Haha... It's the Donkey's Ears Peak...
Very sharp South Peak...
Some unique shrubs grown up there...
Bunch of posers...
Too numb to pose... LOL...!
South Peak looks small.. Enigmaz trying to carry home...
Sometimes it could be humongous...
From the top, there're a group of gliders... The glide to the town at bottom...
This shot just like taken from a plane...
Look back... I saw blue blue skies...
...and Edwin watching where the glider lands via his binocular...
More shrubs...
Now i realise... I din't see Tay along the journey down... Enigmaz & Mr.Lui made new frens...
High altitude flowers...
Stacked up stones...
Sayat-sayat Hut check-point...
Baba used backside to obtain more grip while going down...
Slant slant...
Love this view... Just like an amphitheater...
The town far far down...
Itu dia Banana...
At the Sayat-sayat hut... Telekom booths also got..??? Din't notice alot of things while on the way up... really dark... Now I see... =D
By 7:30am, the sun shined brightly... Kinda hot... Kev also can't stand... But the skies behind looks cool...
Going down... leaving all the peaks...
The most scariest part for those who've acrophobia.
The mist started to form... covering the mountains...
How's the climb Baba...? 2 thumbs up...!
Bird view of Laban Rata...
Reached Laban Rata... We had our lunch and packed our stuff, ready for checkout.
A final cup of Sabah Tea before leaving...
Our journey down was raining... luckily it doesn't rain at the peak... On our way down, we spotted porters carrying filled-gas tank and other equipment for the resthouse... Peerrghh... How strong are they...
Faces once reached to the Timpohon gate... Notice what's Edwin carrying..? Every mountain guide has to collect the rubbish along the way down... So nice of them... No wonder the trail was so clean all the way... Thx to them.. ;)
Final pic before leaving...
Yay..! A colourful cert..!
That's all from our Mt.Kinabalu expedition... Ask me to go again..? Let me think twice... LOL..! xD

Wow! Your pictures are great. I've been there twice and I must've missed St John's Peak.
The second climb was early this month and I made sure I took time to take lots of pictures. We went via the Mesilau Trail, which is a lot more interesting than the Timpohon Trail. You should try that trail next time.
Thc rachel... Wa... twice u went... Great...! Sure sure(if I got money...) ;)
